So here’s the deal – I have 3 vouchers that can be used towards the purchase of any Profantasy products (Campaign Cartographer, Dungeon Designer, etc.). The vouchers are for the following amounts:
- $100
- $50
- $75
Since I already own most of the products available, I thought it would be a good idea to give them to 3 of my readers. So I’m thinking it would be fun to have a mapping competition to find some worthy recipients. The map could be made any way you want – hand drawn, PhotoShop, CC3, whatever.
But before I commit to running a competition, I want to make sure at least a few people are willing to enter. So please answer the poll below and let me know if you think a competition is a good idea. Thanks to all who participated in the poll. Your interest has been confirmed and the competition is underway.
Would you participate in a mapping contest for a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 ProFantasy gift certificate?
- Yes (72%, 23 Votes)
- No (25%, 8 Votes)
- Maybe (3%, 1 Votes)
Total Voters: 32
Thanks for taking time to answer this poll. If you have any additional suggestions or questions about the map-making competition, please leave them in the comments below.

I’d like to enter, looking forward to the competition.
Great Dave! Looking forward to your participation.
I would love a competition, (Floorplan maps preferred) with or without prizes.
I’d like to participate – unfortunately I don’t own any mapping software and my hand-draw skills are pretty much non-existant (plus I’m about to be laid-off so I won’t have the cash to buy any software for some time and I refuse to pirate anything) – but maybe I’ll figure out a way to scan something in if it has a chance to win on the merit of the ideas and doesn’t have to stand exclusively on the quality of the art involved (could including room descriptions / encounter stats help? or would it be strictly just the map?).
@Moonripple – I think the “merit of ideas” idea is a good idea (in other words, your idea has a lot of merit! =) ). Wow – lots of “ideas” in that sentence…
To be honest, I hadn’t even thought about how to judge the entries yet. Step 1 was just to find out if enough people would be interested. It looks like that is the case, so I guess I need start working on step 2 now.
I’d love to enter a contest like this. Sound wonderfu.
OK, the contest is officially started.
